Affiliated Distributors (King of Prussia, Pa.) and supplyFORCE.com have joined forces with the 64-member industrial-supply cooperative I.D. ONE. Adding more than $2 billion in incremental network sales to A-D and supplyFORCE.com, the merger beefs up A-D and supplyFORCE.com's industrial division and doubles their share of the industrial-supply market. The agreement also adds a significant new product vertical, bearings and power transmission products, to supplyFORCE.com. Combined network sales will reach nearly $16 billion.

"I.D. ONE is a leading player in the industrial distribution space," said Bill Weisberg, president and CEO of supplyFORCE.com and former president of A-D. "Its addition to our vast fulfillment network is critical in expanding the products and services we offer our customers, who are looking for an e-commerce supply solution providing timely fulfillment and technical support for purchasing industrial and construction supplies."

Wes Delnea, chairman of the board of Lockport, N.Y.-based I.D. ONE, also expects to offer improved service to the group's customers. "Joining forces with such a strong, established distributor network will greatly benefit our distributors and the customers they serve," he said. "In addition, the business potential of supplyFORCE.com's business-to-business e-commerce initiative is exceptional, leveraging the unique combination of the Internet with a proven distribution network."

In other news, supplyFORCE.com announced the appointments of Steve Hartkopf to vice president/channel development and Stephen Gadomski to director/channel development in the electrical division.
