Hercules Chemical Co. has acquired Cloroben Chemical. Hercules has been an employee-owned company since 1997. The company manufactures and markets chemicals for the plumbing trade including drain and waste systems cleaners.
Cloroben has particular expertise in the formulation and marketing of drain and septic products. Its Fords, N.J., facility will be closed. Key management personnel will join Hercules headquarters in Passaic, N.J.
Hercules plans to market both brands within the wholesale plumbing channel. The combined line of drain, waste and septic system cleaners is intended to enhance Hercules' overall position in the market.
