The U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) voted on April 8 that there is a reasonable indication a U.S. industry is materially injured by imports of non-malleable cast iron pipe fittings from China, allegedly sold in the U.S. at less than fair value. The investigation covers both finished and unfinished fittings in sizes ranging from 1/4-in. to 6-in. Petitioners were Anvil International and Ward Manufacturing.

All five Commissioners voted in the affirmative. As a result, the Dept. of Commerce will continue to conduct its antidumping duty investigation, with a preliminary determination due on or about July 31.

The Commission's public report, No. 731-TA-990 (Preliminary) is available by calling 202-205-1809. Requests may also be faxed to 202-205-2104.
