HVAC Brief: Shipments Of Air Conditioners And Heat Punmps Were Down

The Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute reported U.S. factory year-to-date shipments of unitary air conditioners and heat pumps were down 7% from the same time period last year. While third-quarter shipments in August were up from 2001, July and September fell sharply contributing to the year's downward slope in shipments. The year-to-date nine-month total was 5,288,945.
