Also known to industry family and friends as TECCO, T. E. Corcoran Co. Inc., Brockton, MA, held an open house in October to celebrate its 45th anniversary and inaugurate its new building. This third generation distributorship serves installation contractors and homeowners on the South Shore of Boston. The event drew 100 industry partners.

Two close friends, Thomas E. Corcoran Sr. and Deacon (“Deac”) Carver, started TECCO in 1960 with the credo, “Ours will be a family business where the staff and customers are also considered family.”

The company's new 75,000-sq.-ft. headquarters houses its corporate offices, counter and showroom sales area and warehouse. A branch location in Lakeville, MA, serves a more rural community with product lines including water filtration, pump and agricultural supplies.

The business is now co-owned by John F. Corcoran and his brother, Tom Corcoran Jr. Other current staff members and their years of service to TECCO include: (at Brockton headquarters) Rick Mann, general manager, 24 years; Janice Casale, office manager, 19 years; Bill Litterie, counter sales, 20 years; and Gary Willis, warehouse, 19 years. Third generation family members at TECCO include: Samantha Corcoran, administrative assistant, Brockton, 19 years; Sean Corcoran, sales and delivery, Brockton, 12 years; and Tom W. Corcoran, general manager, Lakeville, 14 years. Also at the Lakeville branch are 40-year PHCP wholesale industry veteran John Ryan, serving in sales at TECCO for the past six years and Jonathan Boyd, driver, two years.

The company said it plans to expand its showroom product lines with more china, faucets, water heaters and plumbing parts and stems. Its showroom competes with local big-box stores by providing more complete deliveries and offering more extensive product lines.

TECCO has been a strong supporter of charities, churches, police and fire departments. More recently the company has contributed to the Marine Corps League through the league's annual golf tournaments to help families impacted by the war in Iraq.
