Newport News, Va.-based Ferguson acquired Endries International Inc. and Endries Incorporated, headquartered in Brillion, Wis., in a pair of stock transactions completed Sept. 30.

Endries is an ISO-certified, international provider of Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) and Maintenance Repair Operations (MRO) services for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), with industrial fasteners representing the bulk of their volume. Endries has annual sales of about $150 million and employs more than 500 associates.

The acquisition includes leased locations in the United States as well as locations at customer sites. Domestically the organization has associate representation in about 30 states. The company also has operations in Canada, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands.

The purchase of Endries will provide Ferguson with expansion opportunities in the fastener and VMI business area. The company will operate as part of Ferguson's Commercial/Industrial Business Group and trade as Endries International Inc. and Endries Incorporated, Ferguson subsidiaries.

Steve Endries, president, will remain with the company. “Ferguson's commitment to customer, supplier and associate growth will provide exciting opportunities for all involved,” Endries said in a statement.

Endries' “expertise in the fastener business combined with vendor-managed inventory and materials handling capabilities offers our company great opportunities for further growth and process improvement,” John Stegeman, Ferguson president/CEO, said in a statement.
