Zurn by Zurn Elkay Water Solutions announced an addition to their Trench Drain portfolio: the Ductile Iron Frame Trench Drain System. The design is ideal for applications requiring heavy-duty solutions, such as DOT, airport and military. The upgraded ductile iron frame affords a durable solution in a lightweight system while adding DIN F loading capacity. The new ductile iron grate incorporates a center bolt lockdown and meets DIN F load requirements. Incorporating the standard radiused bottom of the Z886 Perma-Trench Drain channels increases flow rate and reduces sediment buildup. Trench channels with black additives are now offered, providing new options for UV protection where specific DOT regulations are required.
The new system is designed with lightweight modular sections that help to reduce installation time up to 75% in comparison to the polymer concrete frames that are prevalent. Integral rebar clips make it simple to attach to rebar, while allowing for quick and easy height adjustments. Mechanical interlocking connections provide a quick and reliable method of connecting channel sections together. The lengths also have fewer joints, making the trench drains easier to handle. No heavy lifting or extra hands are needed.
