NKBA CEO: Market uncertainty from tariffs shouldn’t stop renovations
Bill Darcy was recently interviewed by Yahoo! Finance about the state of home renovation.

Bill Darcy, CEO of the National Kitchen and Bath Association, was recently interviewed by Yahoo! Finance to discuss the state of the remodeling market.
According to the interview, almost 71% of homeowners have delayed projects this year due to uncertainty in the market because of the imposing tariffs. Darcy notes that people in every sector of the industry are feeling the pain of the tariffs: manufacturers are unsure of how to price products, leaving contractors unsure of what to charge clients. Darcy believes that the middle-class in particular is holding back, as the luxury sector has not been affected as heavily.
This has caused homeowners to hold off on many renovations, but Darcy believes that they should continue any work that they have been considering as scheduled. Renovating a bathroom or kitchen is a decision that most people have thought about for quite some time, so it would be a mistake to allow this short-term uncertainty to put a halt to renovations.
Overall, Bill Darcy believes that, while he understands the hesitation for many homeowners to renovate with so much uncertainty in the market, they should trust the experts and continue to do the work that they have planned.
