Duravit recently announced that Robert (Bob) Downie, president and CEO of Duravit Americas, has been appointed to the Plumbing Manufacturers International Strategic Advisory Counsel (PMI-SAC) by the International Board of Directors.  

According to the announcement, the achievement highlights Downie’s outstanding leadership, vision and commitment to the plumbing industry. Since joining Duravit in 2022, Downie has provided strategic leadership for Duravit Americas, overseeing the planning, development, and execution of key functions, including marketing, with a strong emphasis on impactful brand initiatives, enhanced customer support and relationship building across the US and Canada. Additionally, Downie is responsible for leading sales, operations and finance for the American markets.

Downie will work collaboratively in his new role with the PMI Board of Directors. The Strategic Advisory Council’s primary responsibilities include contributing to the strategic development of the association’s advocacy agenda and outreach, participating in the annual strategic plan review process, and providing ongoing support and mentorship as independent voices from across the plumbing industry.
