ASA members meet with elected officials on Capitol Hill

The ASA Legislative Fly-in was a resounding success last week, bringing together leaders from the PVF-PHCP industry to engage directly with their elected officials on Capitol Hill.
Participants from ASA-member wholesaler and supplier firms had the unique opportunity to be the voice of the industry, engaging in meaningful in-person meetings with senators and representatives. These discussions not only highlighted pressing issues but also emphasized how the PHCP/PVF sector contributes to the local economies of their constituents.
Topics discussed included the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, LIFO, the Death Tax Repeal Act, the Healthy H20 Act (part of the Farm Bill) and the Workforce Investment and Opportunity Act.
Attendees appreciated the well-organized schedule that included not only meetings with legislators, but also insightful briefings on the latest political and policy developments. Networking events throughout the Fly-In fostered connections among industry leaders, encouraging collaborative dialogue on overcoming legislative and regulatory challenges.
Overall, the event reinforced the importance of our industry’s role in shaping policy and showcased the dedication of our members to driving positive change in Washington — a pivotal moment for advocacy, collaboration, and industry unity.
