Eastern Industrial Supplies announced the eighth annual Eastern Cares Charity Classic has been scheduled for October 11 at the Furman University Golf Course. All proceeds from the golf tournament will benefit Daily Bread Life Children’s Home and Bread of Life Secondary School in Tanzania, Africa.
“We remain committed to supporting the children at Daily Bread Life, which is now in its 15th year,” said Kip Miller, president and CEO of Eastern Industrial Supplies. “Join our Eastern family, customers, and friends for a day of fun and caring in a way that will have eternal dividends.”
The cost to register is $175 per player or $700 for a team of four. Registration and driving range will open at 11 a.m. with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. Each player gets one mulligan and one red tee included with registration.
Boxed lunches will be provided at 11:30 a.m., and drinks, snacks, and dinner will also be provided. Awards will be given for longest drive, and closest to the pin. Donations to be used in prize packages are welcome and appreciated.
Sponsorship opportunities are also available, ranging from $300 to $10,000. Eastern Cares raised nearly $47,000 for Daily Bread Life Children's Home in 2019.
“The Eastern Cares Charity Classic is a tournament where 100% of the proceeds are used for rescuing, caring, and equipping children in Tanzania for life,” said Eastern Cares Director David Kay. “The day of golf simply gives us a chance to gather and celebrate with incredible people!”
Helping children in Tanzania
In 2006, Eastern Cares partnered with Teleios Ministries and Mpeli and Neema Mwaisambe to open the Daily Bread Life Children’s Home in Iringa, Tanzania, making Eastern Industrial CEO Kip Miller and wife Kim Miller’s dream of building an orphanage come true. DBLCH has since provided a loving home and an education to more than 130 children, and has led to the creation of seven businesses that provide 49 jobs, as well as goods and services to the village.
