Ferguson recently announced a pair of additional acquisitions to its growing portfolio. The national distributor acquired Capital Distributing, which was founded by Jim Davis in 1973 and is based out of Dallas, Texas. Capital offers appliance brands to builders, remodelers, architects, designers and consumers. The company will rebrand as Capital Distributing, a Ferguson enterprise.

“Capital Distributing has long-standing builder relationships and experienced appliance delivery and install teams,” Ferguson CEO Kevin Murphy said. “Together, we will strengthen our collective showroom presence and become a leading destination for plumbing, lighting and appliances in the Dallas market.”

In other recent company news, Ferguson Facilities Supply acquired Dogwood Building Supply. The company will operate as Ferguson Facilities Supply, a Dogwood Building Supply Division. Founded in 2004 and headquartered in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Dogwood provides products for new construction and capital-improvement renovation projects across the country. The company specializes in direct-supply solutions — products shipped directly to the jobsite from the manufacturer — to streamline the supply chain.

And in further Ferguson-related news, the company’s Ferguson Ventures corporate venture capital and strategic planning arm announced a Series C investment in Payzer, a cloud-based field-service management software provider based in Charlotte, North Carolina. Payzer provides two software products that help specialty trade contractors grow and manage their businesses.
