Rinnai contributes to charitable home build

January 31, 2018

Tankless gas water heater manufacturer Rinnai Corp. announces its support of the “Patriot House,” a charitable home-build project led by Huntley Design Build, based in Pinehurst, N.C.

Once complete, the newly constructed home will be sold to the public with 100% of the proceeds being donated to The Patriot Foundation, a nonprofit organization that supports families of servicemen and women killed and injured in the global war on terrorism.

Rinnai America Corp., a subsidiary of Rinnai Corp., provided an RUR98iP Ultra Series indoor tankless hot-water unit to the charitable build site. This super-high-efficiency model not only provides an endless supply of hot water but also includes the ThermaCirc360 recirculation feature for faster hot water at the faucet regardless of plumbing configuration, Rinnai explains. In addition to the built-in recirculation pump, the RUR98iP includes internal bypass technology and a thermal bypass valve, an MC-195T-US digital controller, isolation valves and Wi-Fi capabilities.

As with all Rinnai tankless water heater wall-mount units, the RUR98iP’s compact size allows for flexible installation in nontraditional spaces. Its tankless technology also achieves maximum energy efficiency through dual heat exchangers, helping to conserve natural resources. It also meets higher standards for lower CO2 emissions.

“Rinnai is so proud to be part of this commendable ‘Patriot House’ charity project,” said Frank Windsor, chief operating officer for Rinnai. “It's our honor to support the men and women who have loyally and courageously served our country and their families.”

Located in Ballybunion Park, a new-home community located directly at the Jack Nicklaus Pinehurst Golf Resort, the 3,200-square-foot Patriot House will be one of 26 cottage homes constructed by Huntley Design Build and Pinehurst Homes, both members of Custom Builders USA.

Valued at about $700,000, the house will overlook the 14th hole of the famed No. 9 course. Its purchase will include a Pinehurst Country Club full No. 7 and No. 9 golf membership, which allows access to nine courses and all other amenities the world-renowned resort offers. The first year’s dues also have been waived.

According to Will Huntley, Huntley Design Build president, specifications for the entire Ballybunion Park community include Rinnai hot water heaters as standard. “My company uses Rinnai tankless hot water units exclusively,” he stated.

The Patriot Foundation, beneficiary of the Patriot House project, provides scholarship funding for children of killed, wounded or injured soldiers from Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Fort Campbell, Kentucky, and Fort Carson, Colorado. It also provides some childcare funding for the families of fallen and disabled soldiers whose surviving spouses need to obtain additional job training and development. Since it was established in 2003, the all-volunteer foundation has raised $4.5 million, including the distribution of more than 1,400 college scholarships.

This unique Patriot House fundraising project will help the organization provide some 100 more scholarships to military families in need, according to Patriot Foundation President and Chairman Chuck Deleot.

A groundbreaking ceremony for The Patriot House took place in early November 2017 with members of the Patriot Foundation present. The house is expected to be completed by mid-summer 2018. Anyone interested in its sale can contact Huntley Design Build directly at 910-684-8149.
