Malleable iron fittings report: October 2017
There has been little or no change since August’s report. Pricing on domestic malleable products recently experienced a 6.0 percent increase, principally driven by rising scrap costs. The domestic market is stable and witnessing a higher level of requests for “Made in the U.S.A.” products. The manufacturers have ample capacity to meet this uptick as well as any potential acceleration of these requests.
There has been little or no change since August’s report, although import supply is experiencing a disruption as one of the primary Chinese manufacturers is in the process of moving its plant.
