Elkay was founded in Chicago in 1920 by Chairman of the Board of Directors Ron Katz’s grandfather, Leopold Katz, a carpenter by trade, and Ellef Robarth, a tinsmith. They met while working for Litterer Brothers Mfg. Co., a company that supplied sinks. Together they founded Elkay (a mashup of their two names), bringing together their different experiences.

Navien took the first step into the non-condensing market by introducing its new Navien Premium Non-condensing (NPN) series tankless water heaters during its tankless innovation event at North American headquarters in Irvine, California. 

The new NPN will be offered in two series, the NPN-U (universal) and NPN-E (exterior), both of which will be available in 160,000 Btu/h, 180,000 Btu/h and 199,900 Btu/h models for either natural gas or liquid propane.

MIFAB’s official groundbreaking ceremony for its 68,000-square-foot expansion at its headquarters in Chicago took place on Aug. 6, bringing the total square footage to 128,000.
