Elkay announced it has joined Plumbing Manufacturers International (PMI) as one way to prepare for business opportunities and challenges expected to emerge post COVID-19.
PMI joined with the Buy Safe America Coalition, a group of retailers, consumer groups, wholesaler-distributors and manufacturers, to support and advance the INFORM Consumers Act. Introduced in the U.S. Senate on March 23, the legislation is designed to protect consumers from counterfeit and stolen products sold online, which has become a growing problem.
The bill seeks to reauthorize the 1937 National Apprenticeship Act, which established the registered apprenticeship system, for the first time since its inception 84 years ago.
The new administration’s priorities closely align with many of PMI’s goals, specifically supporting infrastructure to improve drinking and wastewater systems, a strengthened EPA program — which includes WaterSense, and international trade and commerce.
Optimistic about President Joe Biden’s agenda, Plumbing Manufacturers International (PMI) moved quickly to work with the Biden administration and the 117th Congress as they began serving their terms in January.
As the co-chair of PMI’s technical committee, Neff plays a key role among a group of industry technical experts who monitor proposed changes to local, state, national and international plumbing codes and standards, including “green” codes to foster greater sustainability.
PMI's aggressive product development and production schedule will enable plumbing manufacturers to supply the marketplace with sufficient product quantities and choices while assuring consumer safety and satisfaction.
