Luxury kitchen and bath manufacturer Boffi celebrates 80th anniversary
Boffi will host various events to celebrate the milestone anniversary.
Boffi, an international leader in luxury kitchen, bath and storage system design, celebrates its 80th anniversary in 2014. Throughout the year, Boffi will host various events, presentations and exhibitions in its showrooms around the world. The festivities continue in New York with a stunning new collection on show in its Soho flagship.
The brand officially honored this landmark birthday during Saloné del Mobile in Milan this April. Boffi’s flagship showroom on via Solferino kicked off Milan Design Week with a cocktail reception and bacchanalian tablescape display designed by Paola Moretti and featured her video installation with scenes from Peter Greenaway’s film, The Cook, The Thief, His Wife & Her Lover, which was screened behind the 32-ft.-long table. The two-story showroom presented the 2014 novelties alongside classic designs creating a cohesive blend of settings.
At the centerpiece of Boffi’s 80th anniversary celebrations is the new Salinas kitchen by Patricia Urquiola. Salinas is Urquiola’s first kitchen and is distinguished by its novel concept, which opens new structural solutions for the kitchen and incorporates fresh and modern materials into the Boffi collection.
Boffi’s Open Kitchen
In tandem with the showroom events, Boffi exhibited the new Open Kitchen at Milan’s Triennale Museum of Design. Designed by Piero Lissoni, Open is Boffi’s first Kitchen designed exclusively for the outdoors. Encased in a spectacular lattice-like structure, designed by Piero Lissoni and styled by Elisa Ossino Studio, Open was placed outside in the Triennale Gardens.
In May during New York’s NYCxDesign, Boffi CEO Roberto Gavazzi welcomed members of the architecture and design community at a reception in the Soho showroom to view the new pieces which had arrived directly from Milan. Currently on display are the CTLine Thermo edition, the DueC washbasin/storage unit combination, the rustic Madia butler’s pantry, the SP14 mirror and the Outliner and Gio lights, all from the new collection alongside several current kitchen and bath displays new to the showroom.
