R.I. Kitchen & Bath, an award winning design-build firm specializing in kitchen, bath and interior renovations throughout Rhode Island, Southeastern Massachusetts and Eastern Connecticut, recently received two National Kitchen & Bath- New England Chapter- Kitchen Design Awards. The team was honored with the Judge’s Choice Award for “Best in Show” as well as the Second Place award in the “New Construction- Kitchens from 151 SF to 350 SF” category.

The NNE-NKBA Design Contest recognizes the notable work of design professionals within the NNE chapter. Winners were announced on May 13, 2014.

The winning project in the “Best in Show” category involved transforming a small, outdated kitchen into a gorgeous, spacious room that offered the homeowners ample space to cook and accommodate a number of people. Substantial updates were made to the space including the addition of new appliances, cabinetry, lighting and flooring as well as the installment of a large island and steel beam to support the new wall.

The second place project in the “New Construction-Kitchens from 151 SF to 350 SF” category involved the redesign of the kitchen of a 1900 Federal-style home. The goal was to create an inviting, functional space where the family could gather. The same footprint remained and allowed for the total transformation of the look and feel of the space. The RIKB team installed beautiful yet practical appliances and storage, as well as new countertops and tile flooring.

“I am extremely proud of my company and the staff here at RIKB” states R.I. Kitchen & Bath President Steve St. Onge.  “We are incredibly proud of both of these projects and it is a privilege to be recognized by our peers within the NKBA organization.”
