Munch’s Supply Co., New Lenox, IL, opened its first branch in the city of Chicago. The new 55,000-sq.-ft. location is one mile from the Kennedy Expressway and offers onsite parking. It also has a large on-site education center for hands-on training.

“Munch’s Supply is doing something unheard of in these current economic conditions - we are expanding and hiring,” saidRobert Munch Jr., president of Munch’s.

The wholesaler will host a grand opening vendor day celebration April 21 with discounts, specials and door prizes.

“We are committed to the success of the independent HVAC contractor,” Munch said. “Many contractors are struggling to compete with big-box appliance retailers who are venturing into the HVAC industry. These retailers represent the biggest threat to today’s independent contractor.”

He noted that Munch Chicago will offer the largest stock of radiant equipment and supplies in the city. In addition to carrying several different brands of boilers ranging from “extremely cost effective to super-efficient and environmentally friendly systems,” the Chicago location also has more than 2,000 pumps in stock.

Munch’s has six other locations throughout the Chicagoland area.
