As the House of Representatives scrambles to forge a second economic stimulus package before the new administration and Congress takes office, HARDI and many of its industry partners are urging House leadership to include H.R. 4574 in anything intended to drive the economy and jobs.

Based off of the original Cool and Efficient Buildings Act, H.R. 4574 is sponsored by Rep. Melissa Bean (IL-8) and co-sponsored by the original bill's author, Rep. Pete Hoekstra (MI-2), and Rep. Scott Garrett (NJ-5) and would revise the tax code by reducing the depreciation period for energy efficiency upgrades to non-residential buildings.
