Donald L. Beauvais, 71, who had co-owned ABC Plumbing of Pueblo and Colorado Springs for 33 years until he retired in 2002, died Feb. 6. In 1975, Beauvais and his brother, Phil Beauvais, purchased ABC Plumbing and Electric Supplies from Al Bensik (ABC stands for Al Bensik's Co.) Phil Beauvais is still in the business. Under the brothers’ leadership the business expanded to a second facility in Colorado Springs.

Don Beauvais was “the guy who could tell you how to put something together,” his son, Don Beauvais Jr., toldThe Pueblo Chieftain. Beauvais served in the U.S. Navy from 1955 to 1958 and was a proud Alcoholics Anonymous member of 25 years. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Beverly; six sons - Don Jr., Larry, Kurt, Bruce, Scott and Bryan; a daughter - Renee Beauvais; 21 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Centro de los Pobres through the funeral home,Montgomery Steward.
