Danfoss Appoints New President/CEO
The Danfoss Turbocor Board of Directors has appointed Ricardo Schneider president and chief executive officer of Danfoss Turbocor Compressors Inc., Tallahassee, FL, effective Jan. 1, 2009.
Schneider joined Danfoss in 1993 and has held several positions of increasing responsibility in three different countries. He began as a regional sales manager, moved to the position of general manager, and most recently has served as global vice president of Danfoss Air Conditioning. In the latter position, he helped grow the Danfoss business from $100 million to $380 million in less than five years in a very competitive, global air-conditioning market.
Schneider holds a bachelor’s of science degree in Mechanical Engineering and a master’s of science degree from Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul in Brazil and pursued further studies at Harvard Business School.
Schneider’s predecessor at Turbocor, Henrik Jorgensen, served as president of Danfoss Turbocor for nearly three years. In late January, Jorgensen will rejoin Sauer-Danfoss as director of PVG Global Operations, Valves Business Unit, in Nordborg, Denmark.
Schneider and Jorgensen have begun executing plans for a transition that will continue until the end of January.
