Sept. 5, 2007 - July Central AC, Heat Pump Shipments Drop 3%

Combined U.S. factory shipments of central air conditioners
and air-source heat pumps for July totaled 637,606, down 3% from July
2006 shipments, according to the Air- Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute
(ARI).
Year-to-date combined U.S. factory shipments
totaled 4.2 million, down 11% from the same period last year. Heat pump
shipments for July totaled 169,417, down 7% from July 2006 shipments. Year-to-date
heat pump shipments totaled 1.2 million, down 11% from the same period last
year.
