The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency said that 44 high-efficiency toilets from six manufacturers - American Standard, Caroma, Kohler and Sterling (a Kohler company), Niagara, TOTO and VitrA - have earned the WaterSense label since April. The toilets must be independently tested and certified by an EPA-licensed laboratory to use 1.28 gallons per flush or less and flush 350 grams of media. WaterSense-labeled toilets can be ordered online (from plumbing distributors). A list can be found on the Web site:www.epa.gov/watersense/pp/find_het.htm. More are expected to be qualified throughout the year.
