The Plumbing Manufacturers Institute announced that its new technical director, Shawn Martin, will handle a number of key PMI functions, such as training in the area of codes and standards, interpreting technical data for staff and members and representing the organization at various industry meetings. He also will be responsible for managing and administering technical activities and programs for the member companies, including participation in a range of green building and water efficiency programs (WaterSense, the National Green Building Standard and Leed-H). In addition, he will be a consensus committee member of the ANSI-accredited National Green Building Standard. Previously, Martin managed the applied field research of the National Association of Homebuilders Research Center as director of the Technology Division.
