Viega LLC will break ground near Witchita, Kan., at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 14, to officially begin construction of its new 439,000-square-foot production, logistics and office complex.

Highlighting the ceremonies at the building site northeast of McPherson, Kan., will be Viega owner Walter Viegener, Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius, Viega CEO Dan Schmierer, and McPherson Mayor Bill Goering. The 100-acre building site is southeast of the intersection of Northview Road and Interstate 135.

The new plant is scheduled for completion in 2008, and will house extrusion, injection molding and logistics facilities. The new factory is nearly three times as large as the current manufacturing and logistics facility, and will allow all operations to be combined under one roof.
