Dale L. Reese, 82, founder of businesses including Standard Plumbing Supply Co., Standard Plastics Co., Standard Transportation and Standard Pipe Nipple Manufacturing Co., died of natural causes Aug. 14 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

He was active and enjoyed working until his passing. He served in Patton's Third Army in World War II. Under his leadership, Standard Supply Co. was named Wholesaler of the Year by SUPPLY HOUSE TIMES in 1974. He also received the Distinguished Alumnus award from Utah State University College of Business in 2003.

He is survived by his wife Marian, sons David, Dennis and Richard, daughters Karen Young, Marilee Rawlings and Nancy Wood, and 25 grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to the Perpetual Education Fund, 50 East North Temple, 8th Floor, Salt Lake City, UT 84150-1501.
