John Schultzretired fromGodwin and Schultz Sales Inc., the company he founded with Bill Godwin, on March 31, after 30+ years in the plumbing industry, most of which he spent as a manufacturers rep. He started out in the plumbing industry working for his dad at Lawson Supply in Salt Lake City, unloading train cars full of cast tubs. After college, he joined an agency out of Denver, eventually buying his call territory, which included Utah, Idaho, Montana, western Wyoming and eastern Nevada, calling himself JWS Sales. He and his wife, Susie, ran that business for 18 years, then merged with Bill Godwin in 1990 to form Godwin and Schultz Sales. In May 2006, Schultz and his wife hooked up their trailer, packed their pontoon boats and fly fishing equipment, and headed north to Alaska where they will spend their summer. Upon returning in September, Schultz will look at getting into the rep business again - only this time, it will be with fly fishing equipment rather than toilet seats.
