Johnson Controls, a supplier of building efficiency, power solutions and interior experience, acquired Berg Inc., a mechanical services company based in Shreveport, LA. Specific terms were not disclosed.

Berg provides HVAC and plumbing services for commercial and industrial customers throughout Louisiana, eastern Texas and southern Arkansas. The company currently has about 231 employees.

“Berg will offer additional depth and breadth of skills, service capabilities and management to Johnson Controls customers in the Gulf South,” said John Murphy, vice president and general manager of North America service and solutions, Johnson Controls, in a statement.

“We are excited to be joining forces with Johnson Controls,” said Bob Hamm, president, Berg. Berg Inc. was founded in 1929 as Shreveport Plumbing Co. by Chris H. Berg. The name was changed to Berg Mechanical Inc. in 1964, then to Berg Inc. in 1993.
