Plumbing Products

The Canadian Institute of Plumbing and Heating is requesting a uniform Canada-wide use of conservation-type plumbing products for both new construction and replacement and has written to all provinces and territories to mandate their use. These products consist of 6-liter water closets, faucets and showerheads certified to the applicable CSA standards. CIPH has worked in the past with the cities of Vancouver, Calgary and the province of Ontario to promote water conservation. The industry is ready to comply with a uniform Canada-wide program for faucets and showerheads by July 2006 and for water closets eight months after provisions are adopted.
