American Standard said it would make a direct contribution of $250,000 to the international tsunami relief effort, giving $200,000 to the American Red Cross International Response Fund and $50,000 to the Chief Minister's Public Relief Fund in hard-hit Chennai, India, where the company has a major commercial braking joint venture operation. American Standard said it also plans to match employee donations to the relief effort up to $250,000, which could bring its total donation to more than $750,000.
