Gary W. Burke,61, president and chief executive officer of Burke Engineering Co. (South El Monte, Calif.), died on Aug. 7, 2001, in his Del Mar, Calif., hotel room. Burke started in the HVAC industry in 1949 when his father founded the company. He was secretary/treasurer for the Air-conditioning and Refrigeration Wholesalers International Association and was also very active in the Northamerican Heating, Refrigeration and Airconditioning Wholesalers Association.
