IBM and i2 Technologies have formed a partnership to provide supply-chain customers with powerful integrated solutions as they transform themselves into e-businesses.

IBM and i2 Technologies have formed a partnership, which they say will combine the strengths of both companies to provide supply-chain customers with powerful integrated solutions as they transform themselves into e-businesses.

The partners said that they will offer supply-chain applications, consulting, technology and advanced research capabilities as well as extensive implementation and integration skills to allow customers to optimize their e-business processes on the Internet.

Delta Faucet recently chose IBM and i2 to help it with its supply-chain management.

"We've seen firsthand the benefit of combining IBM's end-to-end capability with i2's functionality," said Steve McFarland, chief financial officer of Delta Faucet. "We think this alliance can only add greater value to Delta Faucet and to our customers and suppliers."

Over time IBM and i2 intend to address broader supply-chain and value-chain challenges facing their customers.
