Two filter industry veterans have formed a new national, independent distributor of air filtration products. EXFil was founded by Dale A. Posthumus and Todd T. McKinney and grew out of Air Filter & Equipment (Kalamazoo, Mich.), a distributorship started by Posthumus a decade ago. Air Filter will now operate under the EXFil banner.
Posthumus will serve as the company's CEO and McKinney as president. McKinney and Posthumus said that many filter distributors find themselves undercapitalized and struggling to keep pace with changing business climates and technologies.
"Our strategy is to enter selected markets, sometimes with a start-up operation but preferably by partnering with existing businesses that can benefit from our proven model," McKinney said. "We offer an alternative to distributors who want to stay in the industry but no longer wish to manage all aspects of the business."
The company represents several national lines of filtration products for markets such as HVAC, production painting, process filtration, industrial filtration, compressed air and dust collection. EXFil also coordinates sales training and purchasing/inventory control technology for distributors.
