The Coon-DeVisser Co. and Rutt-Thomas have signed a partnership agreement creating one of Michigan's largest HVAC equipment suppliers.

The Coon-DeVisser Co. (Royal Oak, Mich.) and Rutt-Thomas (Madison Heights, Mich.) have signed a partnership agreement creating one of Michigan's largest HVAC equipment suppliers. Products represented or distributed by Rutt-Thomas will be marketed as Rutt-Thomas Heating and Ventilating Products through Coon-DeVisser's Environmental Systems Division.

"We are responding to industry's demand for more products and services from a single supply source," said Coon-DeVisser President Jason Schiciano. He added that the partnership would not result in any layoffs; efficiencies will be achieved through reduction in rent and utility expenses.

Robert Thomas, president of Rutt-Thomas, is the new product manager at Coon-DeVisser. Rutt-Thomas' sales force and support staff moved their offices to Coon-DeVisser's location Sept. 5.

The partnership with Rutt-Thomas comes one month after Coon-DeVisser's announcement of its intention to sell its 49% stake in piping distributor CDv-Costa Piping Systems so that it could focus on the growth and expansion of its equipment and services businesses.
