The Plumbing Manufacturers Institute is advocating one large annual industry show by the year 2005 in a revised version of its trade show consolidation statement. The new statement was approved by its membership in October during PMI's 1999 fall meeting in Washington.

The current statement extends the recommended deadline for consolidation. Negotiations continue with the National Kitchen & Bath Association and show manager Miller Freeman regarding the annual Kitchen & Bath Industry Show.

Meanwhile, PMI said that consolidation discussions between partners of the North American Exposition and NKBA have been productive and suggested that those talks continue. PMI's trade show consolidation issue committee also is encouraging the National Association of Home Builders and NKBA to explore the concept of one annual industry show or possibly holding both of their shows at the same location.
