Johnstone opened a new branch location in October 2003 in downtown Pittsburgh, 3140 Sassafras Way, Pittsburgh PA 15201, the same site as the former Pameco Corp. The new location stocks Emerson Climate Technologies' product lines including Copeland compressors, condensing units and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts, Emerson Flow (formerly Alco) filter-driers and controls and HVAC/R motors as well as other service and installation products.

With the addition of the new line, Johnstone hired personnel including: Alan Byers, refrigeration business manager; Bill Sterf, manager; and Paul Hazen and Ken Stiger, counter personnel. Johnstone is owned and operated in the Pittsburgh area by Russ and Cheri Stockhausen. Five Johnstone HVAC/R branches operate in the Monroeville, Bethel Park, Butler, North Hills and Monaca, Pa. markets.
