Affiliated Distributors established a message board immediately following Hurricane Katrina to track the status of member companies and to facilitate the promotion of programs offered by suppliers and affiliates to aid those in need. Attendees at its annual North American meetings held in Dallas in September contributed more than $38,000 in gift cards and checks for distribution to families that were living in local shelters and needed to rebuild their lives. About half of the collected funds were presented to Major Bill Mockabee, Greater Dallas Metroplex Area commander of The Salvation Army, pictured here with Bill Weisberg, CEO of Affiliated Distributors (left) and Ted Green, president/CEO of Pace Supply Corp. in Santa Rosa, Calif. (right). The balance of the funds will be distributed through the A-D Affiliate Employee Relief Fund, established for employees of A-D members who lost their homes during the storm.
