Metals Service Center Institute (MSCI) reports steel and aluminum shipments declined in the U.S., while increasing in Canada in December on a year-over-year basis.

U.S. service center activity
U.S. service center steel shipments in December 2019 decreased by 4.2% from December 2018. Shipments of aluminum products decreased by 1.5% from the same month in 2018.

Canadian service center activity
Canadian service center steel shipments in December 2019 increased by 0.3% from December 2018. Shipments of aluminum products increased by 6.7% from the same month in 2018.
