Cregger Co., based in West Columbia, S.C., has completed construction of its new corporate offices and distribution warehouse. The facility provides 50,000 sq. ft. of warehouse space and 7,000 sq. ft. of office space. It includes a training facility where the wholesaler plans to host its quarterly sales training seminars and branch managers meetings.

Also, Cregger Co. has agreed to purchase the assets of Scott's Inc., which has two locations in North Carolina: Whiteville and Lumberton. Scott's is a 69-year-old distributor of plumbing, lighting, water treatment, electrical and mobile home supplies.

“The associates of Scott's will enjoy some of the expanded benefits of working with a larger company with a broader set of resources,” a Cregger spokesman said. “Cregger Co. is benefiting by the addition of a very talented and aggressive group of customer-focused associates.”

In other news, Cregger has opened its first self-service facility in its Hickory, N.C. branch. The company recently moved into a larger facility.

“The bulk of our customers like the new self-service format,” a spokesman said. “While some customers still prefer letting us pull the orders, all appreciate being able to see exactly what we have available to them.”
