New Cross-Industry Session to Debut

This first-of-its-kind session, wholesalers from a variety of different industries will be able to share ideas and solutions during ASA’s “Cross Industry Networking Roundtables,” September 26, 2006 in Chicago. As part of the “Network ‘06” program, this 90-minute session (3:30-5:00pm) will feature tables designated for the facilitated discussion of a variety of business issues of universal concern to distributors, including:
  • Inventory management
  • Human resources
  • Sales compensation
  • Credit & collectionsM

Through a working alliance with ASA’s counterpart associations, Chicago-area members from the National Association of Electrical Distributors and the Floor Coverings Distributors of America have been invited to participate in these discussions. Additional associations are also being invited to recruit members.

“I got this idea through my participation in the NAW Association Executives Council,” said Inge Calderon, Executive Vice President of ASA. “For years, I’ve been meeting twice a year with my counterparts at other associations, and I always come back with great ideas that they’ve shared with me. I’m hoping the same kind of cross-industry networking on a distributor level will translate into a regular feature on our program.”
