The Central Wholesalers Association celebrated its silver anniversary during the May 2001 convention in Columbus, Ohio.

The Central Wholesalers Association (the former Tri-State Distributors Association) celebrated its silver anniversary during the May 2001 convention in Columbus, Ohio. Wholesalers recognized for attendance at all 25 conventions were Famous Supply (Akron, Ohio), MacDonald Supply (Findlay, Ohio), Plumbers & Factory Supplies (Columbus), Robertson Heating Supply (Alliance, Ohio), Hughes Supply (Greenville, Ohio) and Westwater Supply (Columbus).

Two electronic commerce sessions were offered during the convention - a session on electronic catalogs presented by ASA Center for Advancing Technology Director Kevin Price and CWA Past President Bob Stichweh, and a smaller session on preparing job submittals with Source ASA+ presented by Price. Human resource specialist Bob Losyk gave an eye-opening presentation on Generation X and the under-30 workforce (see the Supply House Times Business Center).

Rich Leming of Leming Supply (Lafayette, Ind.) was inducted as the 2001-2002 president. Other new officers for the year include Mark Weisman of Famous Supply as vice president, Jason Lute of Lute Supply (Portsmouth, Ohio) as treasurer, and Jeff Kesler of Knapp Supply (Muncie, Ind.) as a director.

The 2002 convention is scheduled for May 6-7 in Columbus.
