Today more than 75% of plumbers' purchases of bath and kitchen products involve the end consumer, and the overwhelming majority of those consumers are women, said Laurie Breininger, vice president and general manager, Bath & Kitchen Americas, American Standard Cos., in a presentation at the American Supply Association's Supply Chain Summit in Toronto.
"Home Depot and Lowe's say their primary target is the female consumer," she said. "This is a fundamental change for the industry."
