The American Supply Association and the ASA Education Foundation announced that Michael M. Adelizzi has been appointed to the position of ASA’s Executive Vice President, effective Sept. 4, 2007.

This brings to conclusion a process that was begun almost eight month ago, after Inge Calderon, ASA’s Executive Vice President since 1995, decided to step down as the chief of staff in favor of taking on a new role with the growing Education Foundation.

“A field of more than 75 applicants was narrowed down to a few finalists, who then underwent a series of interviews with our Search Committee. They had the job of keeping a close eye on the qualities most desirable of someone for this critical position,” said Joel Becker, ASA President.

“Mike Adelizzi is a career association professional, who we believe will bring a combination of strong leadership experience and excellent people skills to the job,” he continued.

Adelizzi’s most recent experience was as Executive Director/CEO of the Mason Contractors Association of America, where he spent the past 16 years building the association’s size, scope and influence in that industry.

In addition to his long tenure with the Mason Contractors Association, Adelizzi has worked with the Illinois Chapter of the Associated Builders and Contractors, and served as District Representative for the office of U.S. Representative Philip Crane. He is also very active in his local community, currently serving as the Schaumburg (Illinois) Township Republican Chairman.
