ASA President Jeff New gives Congressman Donnelly a tour of Mid-City’s facilities.

Mid-City Supply and its President, Jeff New, welcomed U.S. Representative Joe Donnelly to its Elkhart, Indiana headquarters on January 14, 2008. The Congressional visit is part of American Supply Association’s national effort to educate members of the U.S. Congress on issues currently before the Congress and how they impact wholesalers and manufacturers.

Jeff New and roughly 30 of Mid-City’s employees listened to remarks from Congressman Donnelly and engaged him in a robust question-and-answer session on issues such as immigration, LIFO Reform and the “Employee Free Choice Act.” Employees of Mid-City appreciated the opportunity to personally meet with their Representative and address the impact of issues as industry professionals as well as individual voters. “I was proud of the level of questions that our employees had for Congressman Donnelly, as well as his willingness to come back in a few months to meet with us again. It was a great event,” said New.

ASA is currently developing instructional materials to assist industry businesses in hosting a Congressional visit. For further information on conducting a Congressional visit, contact ASA Headquarters at 312.464.0090.
