ACCOUNT DEVELOPMENT MANAGER EAST

Objectives:

• Identifies new account candidates and capitalizes on the opportunities they present

• Expands our presence within our existing customer base

• Develops individual account growth strategies, builds critical relationships and delivers legendary customer service

• Upholds the Merit Brass corporate mission statement, acting with an own it & bring it every day mindset and upholding Merits’ fundamentals as published

• Maintains a professional, ethical and respectful attitude while exercising collaboration and blameless problem solving

• Executes activities as identified by the National Sales Manager

Responsibilities

• Performs external direct sales and marketing for assigned account base. Extensive travel may be required.

• Develops innovative strategies to increase sales with existing customers and potential new customers within assigned account base

• Serves as the lead point of contact for all assigned customer account management matters; assists with challenging requests or issue escalations

• Assists with the development of pricing policies at the individual account level for assigned account base

• Collaborates with National and Regional Sales Managers to identify target growth accounts. Develops and executes on specific sales plan for each targeted account

• Collaborates regularly with personnel in other departments to enhance the customers’ Merit experience

• Qualifies and manages sales leads generated from marketing or sales team

• Participates in joint sales calls, virtual meetings, summits, product and trade shows, and buying group meetings in conjunction with sales management

• Communicates with manager and other departments regarding market conditions involving pricing, product acceptance, quality, country of origin and lead times

• Adheres to the outlined procedures around all sales functions including quotations and meets departmental expectations, goals & KPIs

• Increases account transparency including but not limited to the documentation in the ERP system (all site visit, outcall and quote follow up information)

• Assists with marketing research related to enhancement of existing product lines, development and coordination of corporate (or targeted) marketing initiatives and sales policies.

• Performs other duties that may be assigned to support sales and marketing initiatives.

Requirements

• Demonstrated success in field sales and account management including leadership, strategic planning and relationship building

• Experience in pipe, valve and fitting industry preferred

• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute on strategic sales growth plans at the individual account level with proven track record of success

• Demonstrated ability to make critical decisions with passion and enthusiasm while following company procedures

• Satisfactory driving record as extensive travel may be required

• Relevant college degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

• Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office Products and virtual meeting platforms.

• Preferably based in Ohio.
