It took Jimmy about a half-hour to realize that the homeowner hadn’t understood a word he had said.

“Just curious. What gets under your skin these days when it comes to your local wholesalers?”

Very few Americans are, but that was the title of the short, silent film I watched on YouTube. The United States Bureau of Mines Department of Commerce made it during the 1920s, and it’s filled with drama and also an annoying surprise.

Short answer: It sure does, but not in the way you may think.

First, a quick chronology: I started in the heating industry in 1970 because my father worked for a heating manufacturers rep and he told me this was the best business to be in if I never wanted to be out of work.

I have an undated article from the “Handbook of Construction Techniques,” which McGraw Hill once published. The title was “Keeping a Cool Head.” Consider this in hindsight:
