Roto-Rooter's Plumbing and Drain Service Segment reported sales of $260.8 million for the year ended Dec. 31, up 3% from 2002. Net income of $6.5 million was 33% below net income for 2002. Net income growth for 2003 was affected by higher selling, general and administrative costs, according to Kevin J. McNamara, president/CEO. A number of these expenses should be reduced or eliminated in the coming year. The company expects to realize cost efficiencies and improved customer service through its new centralized call centers.
