The National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors elected Illinois Superintendent of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Safety David A. Douin as its chairman. He succeeds Tennessee Chief Boiler Inspector Donald E. Tanner, who resigned from the position in January. Douin brings 27 years of experience to his new position.
Board members appointed Louisiana Chief Boiler Inspector Robert R. Cate to the position of past chairman, completing the term of Roger Coomes, who also resigned in January. Cate began his career in the boiler industry in 1970.
