Valves: December 2019
November 29, 2019
Current situation:
Valve prices according to the Producer Price Index were up .2% month-over-month in November (up .3% M/M last month). On a year-over-year basis, prices were up 2.3% (also up 2.3% last month).
Key factors that could affect supply or price:
Domestic manufacturers continue to struggle in absorbing supply chain disruptions for overseas manufactured assemblies. We have seen price increases commensurate to tariffs imposed on imported material. Lead times on industrial valves have started to come down as manufacturer inventories are just starting to build for the first time in two years.
